9 times table
The 9 times table, from 9 × 1 to 9 × 10, and tips to remember it.
- 9 × 1 = 9
- 9 × 2 = 18
- 9 × 3 = 27
- 9 × 4 = 36
- 9 × 5 = 45
- 9 × 6 = 54
- 9 × 7 = 63
- 9 × 8 = 72
- 9 × 9 = 81
- 9 × 10 = 90
Tips
- Multiplying by 9 is multiplying by 10, then taking the number away once: 9 × 7 = 70 − 7 = 63.
- The digits of a result always add up to 9, and its tens digit is one less than the multiplier: 9 × 7 starts with 6, and 6 + 3 = 9, so 63.
Out of order
Once you can recite the table in order, quiz yourself at random: 9 × 6, 9 × 9, 9 × 4… That’s how it’s used in mental math. The Multiplication mode trains it as you play, alone or with a friend.
