The 5 times table, from 5 × 1 to 5 × 10, and tips to remember it.
- 5 × 1 = 5
- 5 × 2 = 10
- 5 × 3 = 15
- 5 × 4 = 20
- 5 × 5 = 25
- 5 × 6 = 30
- 5 × 7 = 35
- 5 × 8 = 40
- 5 × 9 = 45
- 5 × 10 = 50
Tips
- Multiplying by 5 is multiplying by 10, then halving: 5 × 8 = 80 ÷ 2 = 40.
- Its results end in 0 or 5: in 0 when you multiply an even number, in 5 otherwise.
Out of order
Once you can recite the table in order, quiz yourself at random: 5 × 6, 5 × 9, 5 × 4… That’s how it’s used in mental math. The Multiplication mode trains it as you play, alone or with a friend.
