Percentages
A starting number, then percentage increases and decreases one after another: sales, taxes, raises. Each percentage applies to the running result, and the numbers always come out whole. 10, 50 and 100% at first, then 25, 20, 75 and 5% as the levels go.
How to play
A starting number, then percentage increases and decreases, one after the other from left to right (200, + 10%, − 25% make 165). The result is always a whole number.
Example
200 + 10% − 25% = 165
Tips
- Start from 10%: it's the number divided by 10. 5% is half of it, 20% twice it.
- − 25% is taking off a quarter; − 50%, halving; + 100%, doubling.
- + 10% then − 10% don't bring you back to the start: 200 becomes 220, then 198.
Solo or against someone
Solo, go as far as you can: the first mistake ends the game. Against someone, you play the same levels as your opponent: if you're the only one with the right answer, you win. All the rules
